Birthday Vacation

This short story is about my seventh birthday, written in a child's voice.

For my seventh birthday my mommy and my grandma decided they would take me to Florida. I was so excited, I have seen a lot of commercials on the TV for Disney Land and I knew it was in Florida. We were going to stay in the Disney Land hotel so we were close to the park. I was ready to enjoy the best birthday present ever. We would leave the day of my birthday which was August 6.

The night before we had to get on the plane, my mommy helped me pack my Mickey Mouse bag full of some summer clothes. I could barely sleep that night, because I was so happy. My mommy came in the morning to wake me up at 8 a.m. I was so ready to ride on the big plane for the first time. As we boarded the plane my mommy realized that the seats where in different sections. I was so scared. My seat was next to some strange old man. Right before the plane was going to take off, my mommy had arranged for me and some other lady to switch seats. After all that though, I found the strange man interesting. After I switched seats, the plane took off to Florida.

We got off the plane and headed to our hotel. It was so warm and there were these big trees with long leaves, they were so pretty. I couldn’t wait to go to the pool hotel to swim. After swimming a bit we went and got some dinner, then headed to bed. The next morning we woke up early because we were going to Disney Land to ride the roller coasters and see Mickey Mouse. We stayed there most of the day but didn’t ride everything because I got to back two more times.

After the vacation was over I didn’t want to go back home. It was so nice and warm there I wanted us to move there. I went home anyways, because I had to. To this day that was still the best vacation I ever had.
